Are You One Of The Lucky Contractors?

I just finished reading the business section of the Tampa Tribune and according to the paper the housing slump isn't going to abate anytime soon.  While the housing market is going nowhere many contractors are extremely concerned about the impact it is going to have on their businesses.   How is your business doing?

Many contractors’ are very good at the trade and really lack the marketing skills to keep their business going.  They complete a job and then start to look for the next job instead of creating a system where the jobs just roll in and all they have to do is schedule their crews and do follow-up.  If you are currently struggling with keeping your head above water…now is the time to get your marketing in order so you NEVER have to search for the next job.

One of the easiest ways to do this is to create a referral system.  If you do good work you shouldn't have any problems in finding clients who will refer you to their friends, family and neighbors.  We have created an easy to use monthly newsletter called Hot Off The Press which our contractors get every month.  All they have to do is put their contact information in the document and update the referral page, print it and mail it out to their past clients.  It's that easy.  In fact, our contractors have reported increases in business this year while many other contractors are struggling.

What are you doing to increase your construction business profits?
