Four Quick Insights Into Marketing Your Construction Business
When things get economically tough for construction businesses many construction professionals make the biggest mistake by cutting back on their marketing. Or worse yet they don't have a marketing plan or any marketing materials! This is the WRONG thing to do and let me tell you why strong construction companies will thrive when others are suffering.
You see contractor marketing is the life-blood of your business. Unfortunately, almost everyone doesn't know how to market effectively. Here are a few steps to help you improve your marketing and your results:
- Define who your best customers are and start to build a list of them. You should consider going back through your existing clients and pulling their names and addresses together.
- What is your customer's biggest need? Find out what their biggest need is and then you can create a solution to fulfill their needs. Build your marketing message around this solution.
- How are you marketing to your prospects? It is a proven fact that it takes up to 7 or more exposures of your messages before the majority of your prospects or clients will respond. Mix up your messages by using a combination of email, postcards, and sales letters. Don't send the same information over and over. You can still develop your name recognition without boring your prospects.
- Keep in touch with your clients on a regular basis. You should make it a priority to stay in touch with your past clients on a regular basis. Even if your business doesn't lend itself to repeat business from previous clients they can be an invaluable source for referrals. Remember, your best customers are the ones who have already purchased from you before and are happy with your services. By keeping in touch with them, you'll automatically increase sales.
